Jodie Francisco has been in the real estate industry for over 15 years. She was working for a dot-com when the crash happened, and someone suggested she get her realtor’s license. It was then that Jodie discovered her passion for homes and how much she enjoyed real estate. She has been living in Encino for 14 years, and joined Dilbeck because she likes the non-corporate feel. Jodie attended the University of Illinois Champaign and earned her degree in Advertising, working in the advertising and entertainment industries for many years. Having lived in the Hollywood Hills, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Sherman Oaks, and Encino, Jodie has real expertise in Los Angeles real estate. She has created a Facebook page and website for her community, and holds neighborhood meetings to strengthen ties between local city government, police, and community members.
Q: Favorite local restaurant?
A: Lala’s; the food is really good, it’s really reasonable, it’s just a nice atmosphere. I found my client/friend an apartment right around the corner from there and they love discovering all the restaurants out here. They turned me onto Lala’s so now I turn everybody onto Lala’s.
Q: Favorite local coffee shop?
A: Starbucks, I get the Javachip Frappuccino.
Q: Favorite weekend excursion?
A: Solvang and Santa Barbara.
Q: Favorite hobby?
A: I play softball and tennis.
Q: Favorite organization to volunteer for?
A: I work with LA Family Housing who provides services for homeless and people near homelessness; it’s a wonderful organization, and I also raise money for Warrior K9 Connection, Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities (ECAD), and Bergin University, they actually train people to become animal trainers and train them to be service dogs. I also volunteer for MusiCares. MusiCares is the charitable arm of NARAS (the recording academy) who puts on the Grammy's. I have been a volunteer manager for their event for the past six years. The event honors a musician who has been an icon in the industry and also very philanthropic, this past year we raised over $8.5 million dollars. I also recently joined the committe for the Dilbeck & Associates Charitable Foundation.

A: Sepulveda Basin Recreational Area.

Q: Favorite holiday tradition in your neighborhood?
A: On 4th of July we have a parade for the kids in the neighborhood; the kids decorate their bikes and their scooters, we close off two streets and at the end of the parade we have a bake sale and we sell beverages and baked goods. For the last two years we have actually donated the money from the bake sale to Warrior K9 Connection. We get over 100 kids for this, in the Encino woods neighborhood.
Q: Favorite building or architectural style?
A: Art deco and craftsman.
Q: Favorite thing about working and living in this community?
A: You just get to meet a lot of different people. Everything is here there’s restaurants, grocery stores, every imaginable amenity that you need, all close by. We’ve got great theaters, great shopping, and malls.
